Today we were scheduled to drop anchor in Bay of Islands and shuttle in the small tender boats to Waitangi however the swell was too big and the excursions were cancelled.
The seas didn’t seem to worry the albatross we watched off the side of the ship at all as they nonchalantly cruised over the heaving swell only centimetres above the water, rising and falling with the waves as they searched for fish – disappearing into the troughs and reappearing as the water rose again.

Frances in the Tai Chi class |
Because the shore excursions were cancelled, I arranged with the Cruise Director to hold two tai classes during the day with Renae.
The morning class had about 40 people, and the afternoon class about 30 as it was in a smaller venue. It was great working with another instructor, especially with such large groups.
We had very good feedback from one of the staff instructors about the way the class was structured and presented.

We spent a lot of time on the stairs |
During the day I felt progressive worse as I came down with a chest infection - apparently an occupational hazard on cruise ships.

Tsars Palace has become our dining place of choice and we had another pleasant evening there.
